Engineering Tools Aid in Selecting Optimal Feedthrus Check out our engineering tools. The first tool is an advanced feedthru search engine of our entire database of previously designed feedthrus. This tool allows you to search over 2,000 models of RF/50 Ohm, DC, and Capacitor/Filter feedthrus to find the model that most closely resembles your application. Enter as much, or as little, information about your feeedthru requirements to obtain either a broad choice of options, or a specific model that fits your needs. Search criteria includes: feedthru function, body and pin diameters, and pin tip type. After selecting a specific model, the tool will also generate an automatic online datasheet for that model that will display complete mechanical, electrical, and environmental specifications. You will be given a complete list of pin tip options with which to modify any model. The second tool offered is an impedance reference calculator. This tool allows you to calculate the opposing dimension of glass to pin, or pin to glass, that will achieve optimal impedance from their package. Simply enter your known glass or pin diameter, enter the desired impedance, and choose a desired dielectric of either 4.1, 4.9. or 6.65. The tool then instantly displays the optimal glass or pin diameter that will achieve your desired impedance.
