Multipin Headers Feature Integrated Filtering

Thunderline-Z MultipinsTM address the many space and time saving issues facing high frequency designers today. These multipin headers come in a variety of styles from 2 pin to up 16 or more pins. They are built for both RF and DC applications up to 40 GHz and are even available with combined RF and DC functionality in the same header. While the space and time saving issues of combining feedthrus into a single header is obvious, the real value lies in the fact that filtering is also built in, thereby eliminating the typical step of having to hardwire capacitors internally to reduce interference. Filtering of unwanted interference is achieved via an integrated capacitor across the D.C. line. This capacitor can range in value from 10 to 47,000 picofarads. The value of this capacitor is selected by the customer based on the frequency of the spurious signal required to be shunted to ground. Thunderline-Z utilizes proprietary SolderTightTM construction to add this filtering capacitor which allows for a soldering schedule exceeding 300º C. Pin termination options include straight cut, radiused, flattened, pierced, and bent. These headers are designed for use in a variety of commercial and military applications where signal purity, build costs and real estate issues are concerns. KovarTM is the base alloy and plating finishing options include Nickel, Gold, Silver, Copper, and Zinc. Price and delivery is application specific.
