Machined, Coined & Stamped Modules

Thunderline-Z has developed a unique process that will forever change the way you buy surface mount packages. Utilizing our latest feedthru, the BellPin, we can quickly deliver hermetically sealed custom aluminum or aluminum alloy packages with true surface mount connections that perform through K band. This unique approach offers several pin position options and delivers premium VSWR characteristics while ensuring low parasitic inductance. These packages are ideal for everything from prototyping to volume manufacturing. They can be supplied 100% hermetically tested and are available in a variety of plating options including nickel, silver, or gold. Brass bodies are optional.

It All Starts with the BellPin
Thunderline-Z's BellPin is a revolutionary design that has allowed us to offer these lightweight, high performance surface mount packages at a fraction of the cost of Kovar. The pins mount securely to the bottom of the package creating a true surface mount connection. The BellPin feedthru is made with a gold plated Kovar base and center conductor and is fired in place with low loss Corning glass. Advanced modeling techniques were used to achieve a very high 50 ohm frequency range compared to Kovar SMT housings. Hermetic reliability is exactly the same as a round ferrule type feedthru. Typical VSWR is 1.5:1 and pin diameters range from .008 to .015 inches.
